Speaking on PM Modi on the phone, the World Bank chief- India's work was historical

India's leap in World Bank's Is of Doing Business Index is news of relief for the Modi government.

India has made tremendous leap in the World Bank business facilitation ranking 'Is of Doing Business Index'. This achievement of India has been termed as World Bank Chairman Jim Yong Kim. A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said that Kim talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a telephone conversation.

Kim congratulated the prime minister for 'historical bounce' in the ranking. He said that the country with population of more than 125 crores has made remarkable improvements of 65 notches in the shortest period of four years. The PMO statement said that the Prime Minister thanked the World Bank President for continuous guidance and cooperation in the country's efforts in 'Is of Doing Business'.

India has reached the 77th position with a jump of 23 points in the Issue of Doing Business Index. It is believed that this will help India attract more foreign investment. In year 2017, India was 100th in the Isis of Doing Business. In the last two years, India is among the Top 10 countries that have improved the ranking of the Issue of Doing Business Index. At the same time, India's Rank First in South Asian Countries.

When the Modi government came to power in 2014, India was ranked 142 in the list of 190 countries in terms of accessibility. Last year, India's ranking had come from 131 th to 100th place. New Zealand is on top in the business facilitation rankings. This is followed by Singapore, Denmark and Hong Kong respectively. In the list, America is eighth, China is 46th and Pakistan is 136th. World Bank has ranked India 10th in the most reforming economies in this matter.
